Production Team Call: The Fantasticks, The Sorceror

We’re looking for motivated, creative individuals to fill the following positions for our 2008-2009 season:

  • Director, The Fantasticks
  • Musical Director/Pianist, The Fantasticks
  • Technical Director, The Fantasticks
  • Staging Director, The Sorcerer
  • Musical Director, The Sorcerer
  • Choreographer, The Sorcerer
  • Costume Design/Construction, The Sorcerer
  • Set Design/Construction, The Sorcerer
  • Stage Manager (co-ordinating both shows, with help from ASMs)

Auditions for both productions will be in September ‘08, with performances of The Fantasticks (Schmidt/Jones) in November ‘08, and The Sorcerer (Gilbert/Sullivan) in January ‘09.

Interested in being a part of the G&S UBC executive council next year? Want to be involved in planning next year’s productions? Come to our annual general meeting this Thursday, March 13 from 7pm-10pm in the SUB Council Chambers (second floor). There will be free food!

That’s Another Story and Mikado auditions!

Now that you’ve settled into all your classes, it’s time to get ready for another G&S show! This year, the G&S Society of UBC is putting up That’s Another Story in November 2007 and The Mikado in January 2008. Our artistic team has lots of great ideas so we’re really excited about putting on some top-notch shows this year!

If you want to try out, sign up for an audition time at Clubs Week! We’ll have our booth set up in the SUB from Wednesday, Sept. 19 to Friday, Sept. 21, 9am-4pm.

Make sure to start planning for your audition, as they’re coming up really soon! Auditions will be held:

  • Saturday, Sept. 22nd 1-5pm
  • Monday, Sept. 24th, 7-10pm
  • Tuesday, Sept. 25th 7-10pm
